I have really enjoyed using Twitter as a tool in this class! I feel more connected with the teaching community which is a great feeling. FSU Education and Class Dojo have both even liked a couple of my posts which is so cool! Through this, I have learned how to be more attentive and observant so that I have something to tweet about. Twitter is great for communicating and supporting other people with the same interests as you. Sometimes I struggle to find something to tweet out just to get the requirement done but most of the time that isn't a issue.

I have actually created a couple of websites before, one was for an assignment and the other was for a job. However, I used Wix and Wordpress as the website creating software. Of the three that I have now used, Weebly is by far the most user friendly. One new skill that I learned was how to embed a Google Calendar into a website and also how to generate a Creative Commons license. Overall, I really enjoyed the process and I don't really have anything to complain about. If I had more time to spend doing it, I would have liked to get more in depth with the sources I added and the tools that I linked. I also was pretty close to linking and creating a syllabus but I thought that would be about much. It would have sold the illusion that this was a real teacher page though! Those are all tools and resources that I will be adding to my future resource tool belt.

Learning about assistive and adaptive technologies has been extremely interesting and eye opening. I have heard of many hardware and software tools that are specifically made for certain mental or physical specifications, however, I had not realized how much regular tools that I use daily can actually help people with more specific needs. For example, my Apple Watch reminds me to take a couple minutes to breath every couple hours. It times and regulates my breathing pattern to best reset and calm me down. This is something that can also be extremely helpful for people with anxiety or ADD/ADHD. Assistive and adaptive technologies are made to be useful in helping people with different impairments succeed the way any other student or person would. The main challenge that I can see having when it comes to using these technologies in the classroom is my own ill-education when it comes to them. I fear that I may not be able to help a student with troubleshooting if something goes wrong with their device. I'm sure though that if/when I do have a student with certain assistive technology, I will do thorough research and learn as much as I can to best help and support them.

  1. Wow! I love the look of your website! Your light color scheme and repetition of fonts makes your entire website flow very well. The contrast in the black, white, and teal helps the reader be able to clearly read everything on the page. The fonts and colors are also very unique and telling of your personality and style. I also think the contrast in font size is greatly proportioned and easy to read. I also enjoyed your "about me" page that let me know a little bit more about you and your life. You have kept your text and links very organized and neatly spaced so there is no confusion of where to find your information. I also found it cleaver that you linked your blog to your website as well. I will have to add that to mine. It looks great!

  2. The contrast of the page is extremely pleasing. The White page with the black bold lettering and the nice light blue color in the center really makes the page stand out. The repetition of the headings and titles of every section being black and bold and really easy to see makes the page look much more professional. Each page has the light blue page heading which also makes the page look really nice and brings it all together. The alignment of the pages is well done. Nothing is in the way of anything else and all the text is super easy to read wherever it is on the page. The text aligns well on each page and because everything is so big and bold it does a good job of not wasting any space either. The proximity of everything is good because once again there isn't a lot of unused space anywhere in the website which makes it look a lot better. The Pictures take up just enough of the page where there is still some white on the page but the pictures are the main focus and it makes the page look much better. I would say overall that the design of the website is perfectly simple and visually pleasing in every way. The pictures look great and the colors used aren't too much. A lot of big text makes it easy to read and stand out.
