Blog 5

Learning and learning to implement Diigo has been very interesting! I think that it can be a very useful tool in the right situation. Personally, I am an English Creative Writing student, therefore, a lot of my assignments and papers are based on my own personal experiences or ideas. However, for students studying science or history, where they have to do research papers or projects, I think Diigo would be extremely useful. If there was one thing that I could change about Diigo to make it more useful for me, is maybe have a way to also use it for PDFs or ebooks or other sources not on the internet.

So far, I have loved blogging so much! I have found that this is a great way to express myself while also learning and receiving a grade. I am very glad that this is a way to track our progress as students rather than assigning busy work every day. I appreciate that I am able to be creative with blogging while also talking about the educational materials we are learning in class. I wish that we had more assignments where we were interacting with other students but I understand that that may be too much. I have learned that keeping a blog, whether educational or not, is a great way to track your own progress. I can look back to my first blog and see that I really didn't know what I was getting myself into while taking this class. I think it is a great way to see how far we've all come!

A Web 2.0 tool that I can see myself implementing when I am a teacher is YouTube. YouTube is an incredible source of entertainment, knowledge, and many other genres of content. I am subscribed to a few teachers on YouTube such as Brittany, a high school English teacher at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida. She uses her channel to give other teachers advice while also spreading love and positivity in her community.

I rate this Web 2.0 tool a 10/10 because it is collaborative, creative, and educational all at the same time!
